Q: What exactly does website migration mean and what does it involve?

A: If your present web hosting provider can no longer measure up to the demands of your web site, or when you face constant downtime, or if you have to wait for hours for the technical support staff to respond back to you, it may be a smart idea to switch your hosting provider, i.e. to transfer all the files for your sites as well as your databases from your current provider to your future provider. At Pulse Digital, we realize that this can be hard and time–consuming. This is the reason why we’ll do all that for you for free! Our highly capable technical staff will transfer your site content from your current web hosting provider to us. Our techs have got a lot of experience with website migration and can take care of everything – from an ordinary WordPress–driven weblog or Joomla–powered web site, to an extremely elaborate, custom–built app.

Q: Website migration seems like lots of work. How much time is it going to take?

A: While we can’t give you a precise time window, since there are lots of factors, among them the physical size of the files and databases, the location of the current host’s server, the complexity of your web site and the present workload of our Website Migration Department, etc., we will do our very best to transfer your web site within 48h, and in some cases – within 24h (when the website content is not very large).

Q: What info will I be required to give to your Website Migration Department?

A: We’ll need the login details for your old web hosting provider’s Control Panel along with the web site’s name (domain name).

Q: My old hosting account has sensitive info inside. How can I rely on you?

A: Before we can start the migration of your web hosting account, you must first open an account with us. Opening an account with us requires that you to share more or less the same info you have given to your current web hosting provider. We also have a very rigorous Privacy Policy, which specifies how personal data is tackled.

Q: What about downtime? Will my web site be offline?

A: Your website will work just like it did before with your old web hosting provider. Once we have finished the migration, your website will be configured to work on our hosting platform and we will alert you to preview it. If everything is working properly, all you will need to do is edit the name server resource records associated with your domain. Your site will be transferred over to us with no downtime.

A: Nah. We’ll never get in touch with your web hosting provider about anything at all. They will not be aware of the web site transfer either.

Q: Does it make any difference what platform my current provider is using?

A: Yes. We support all common Linux–based hosting platforms. We do not support Windows–driven hosting platforms, since we do not provide Windows web hosting solutions ourselves. We also do not support proprietary website building and administration user interfaces like Wix, BaseKit, Jimdo, Website Tonight, Four Square, Mr Site, etc.
