A catch-all mailbox is one that gathers all the emails sent to inactive email addresses. For example, if your email address is info@domain.com, but somebody mistypes it and sends an email to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have configured. Only one single mailbox per domain name can have this feature enabled and in this way you will never miss messages because the other party has an obsolete email address or has made a mistake. The drawback of creating a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving plenty of unsolicited messages, but this issue can be rectified by using anti-spam protection software. It’s also crucial to know that a mailbox with an activated catch-all functionality cannot redirect inbound emails to a 3rd-party email address.
Catch-all Emails in Hosting
If you host a domain name on our cloud hosting platform and you’ve got a hosting account, you’ll be able to activate the catch-all functionality for any e-mailbox that you set up under the domain name. The Hepsia hosting Control Panel’s Email Manager section includes quite a few features, but it’s astonishingly intuitive, so setting up a catch-all mailbox requires just a mouse click. All the email addresses that you’ve got will be shown in this section in alphabetical order and you’ll simply have to click on the "Catch-all" button for the respective address. Our system will inform you if there’s already another catch-all mailbox enabled for that domain or if the one that you would like to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding enabled, so you can either deactivate the latter feature or select some other mailbox. Disabling the catch-all option is just as simple and requires yet another click on the very same button.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
You’ll be able to create a catch-all email address with no more than a click in case you have a Linux semi-dedicated hosting plan with our company and your emails are handled by our cloud platform. All the addresses that you set up with any domain name hosted in the semi-dedicated hosting account will be displayed in the Hepsia Control Panel’s Email Manager section. Each of them will have a mini "Catch-all" icon next to it, so all it will take to enable the feature will be to click on that icon. In the exact same manner you will be able to turn off the feature, in case you do not need it any longer. Our system will notify you if you’re attempting to activate a second catch-all mailbox for a certain domain or in case there is activated email forwarding, but it will never modify or disable anything automatically or without your consent.
